I been to London before, some parts are very nice, even that it is very congestive, and grey. Most of the buildings are grey, there are not flowers, Buckingham Palace has no grass, flowers, nothing, it is just a big gray building. I had seen the changing of the guards, too long for my taste.
The Thames river promenade is very nice, even that the water is brown, still crowed, but it is a beautiful walk, you can go to the tower and see the Queens jewels, and then walk to St Paul Cathedral, Big Ben, Parliament. Every 5 minutes or so, there is a bridge for you to cross the river, or you walk one side, then cross and walk the other side, or if you are like me, you keep on zigzagging, crossing all the bridges and walking back and forth.
The Trafalgar square is a very nice area; there are theater and many pubs, very nice. Piccadilly square is very nice too, and from there you can walk Regent St. full on both sides with great stores.
Or course I went to Harrods’s, as my luggage has not showed up yet, however, I did not shop much, because I am so mad my luggage with all my beautiful clothes from Antropologie are missing, that I don’t even feel like shopping.
If you know me, you know that I am a shopaholic, so, if I do not want to shop, something it’s really wrong.
Anyway, I visited some of the sites; I eat at a French deli, a nice brie and tomato baguette. Now, if you buy your train ticket in advance, and you travel after 9.30am, you can get tickets from £7 ($11.83) each way for the train. You just need to travel during off peak hours, and make sure you buy them in advance because they go fast.
Once in London you can buy a tube day pass for £5.60 ($9.46) however, most of the places are within walking distance. Besides, if you use the tube, you do not see the surroundings, so I just walked, besides I like walking.
