There are not many stores in Coventry, well, there are a lot, but they are not my type of stores. I heard of some neighboring towns with nice malls and centers, so there I went.
Beautiful city, shopping galore, gigantic mall with nice stores, great center with many restaurants, even a China Town, and beautiful canals, with houseboats, and cafes overlooking them.
I bought nothing, I am still mad.
I went back to Birmingham a couple weeks later with a fellow CouchSurfer and he showed me around town, the Bull Ring, the canals, the centre. When you think canals we usually think of The Nederlands, however there are canals all over England.
We eat at an Italian restaurant: San Carlo, very nice, I had the veal a la milanese with potatoes and tomato salad, it was good, but they did not blotted the veal or the potatoes after frying them, so they where a little grease, but I enjoy them anyway. After having English food for a few weeks, this was a nice change.
They have an indoor market that it is open every day. On Saturdays, they have a really nice and big outdoor market next to it. Beautiful vegetables and fruits without wax, big orange eggs, anything you want you can find it there. So I know where I will be doing my shopping from now on, after all I love markets.
Veal cutlets
2 pkgs of veal cutlets cut thing
3 beaten eggs
Italian style bread crumbs
Oil
Dip the cutlets into the egg and then into the bread crumbs, making sure they are well coated on both sides
Fry in the oil over a medium heat until they are brown, about 4 minutes on each side.
Dry on paper towel.
Serve with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetables, rice, couscous, or anything else, actually they are good with everything.
I always make extras, so I can have them the next day, and the next, and the next...
