After I came with the idea of house sitting. I went into the web and I check all the web sites about   house sitting.  I choose one and I signed with “www.housecarers.com”

The way these sites work is:

You sign in and paid a small yearly fee for the service. Then you post your profile on their web page and people that are looking for a house sitter contact you via email ( though their
web page) to see if you want to house sit for them.

You can change your profile and update it at all times, they also have a calendar that lets you input the dates you are unavailable and of course, they have a list of all the countries available.

You can input the countries you want to go and then wait for somebody to contact you or you can go into the list of the people looking for house sitter and contact them. I usually wait for the host to contact me, and it has been working great, I been going from one house sit to the next one.

Just remember that you are not the only one looking for this particular house sit, there are hundreds of people applying, so do not take it personally when you do not get one. You need to be open to where to go and on the dates. I founded that if I choose places that are not that touristic, I have a better chance to get the sit, because too many people do not want to go there, and just because the places are not big touristic cities does not mean that they are not beautiful.

Most people have pets, which is why they need somebody to stay in their homes. So, if you are not a pet lover, do not even bother, because this is not for you.

I house sit for small dogs, cats, chickens and pigs; I will not do any other type of animals because I will not know what to do with them. Of course, you have to keep the house clean, water the plants, bring in the mail, sometimes you have to mow the lawn. You are living in this house, so you just keep it nice and neat like if it was your own, even better because it’s not yours.
