Montevideo

Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay and is the biggest city of the country, and where most people live. It is situated on the coast of the Rio de la Plata.
Some parts of the capital are cosmopolitan and other ones are beach resorts. You can be in a beautiful mall in Punta Carreta and a few blocks down, you are on the beach.
By-the-way, the mall in Punta Carreta used to be a jail. After the military dictatorship, the jail was close; however, they conserved the gates and some of the structure for the mall. It looks just great.
I really enjoy going to the beach. One thing I miss about not living here any longer, are the beaches. I have been a beach bum all my life, well, I used to live 5 blocks from the beach, so, yes, I spend all my time there. And the high school I attended was right across the street from the beach, so, sometimes we had to make the decision of going to class or staying on the beach. It was a hard life…
